AICE Media Studies

 


Hi, my name is ahmed siddique, I am in 12th grade, a senior in fort Lauderdale, and I am in the Aice program. One of the classes I'm taking this year is Aice Media studies. The reason I chose this class because I thought that media studies was interesting. I like how its not like the other traditional classes. For example, science, reading, history math. However this class is about film. I found that really interesting because I've always taken those traditional classes. And the fact that this is about film and not math or something, makes me think that it's fun and that I could learn things that I really enjoy. Maybe even become a career path in my future. So I really have my hopes up this year, even despite being stuck at home. I really have high expectations and I want to broaden my knowledge, even on film. In addition, I might start editing YouTube videos, and this class may force us to edit a video for an assignment, so then I don't need to push myself to learn to edit, this class will push me, for the benefit of myself. This is also my 7th Aice class I am taking. So I must pass it in order to get the Aice diploma which will lead me to get a bright futures scholarship. I'm really excited to be taking this class and hope to learn something new.

Editing blog music video

  For editing my music video i first had to cut down some of my parents. All together i probably recorded like 5 minutes worth of footage, so i had to cut that down to like 1 minute. Before submitting, since i had extra time and everything I wanted to impress Cambridge, so i tried to do some special effects on my video, like the gif that follows below, like when the camera is still focused on the face, but moves side to side relatively fast. While recording i was kind of a little bit running out of ideas for what to actually to include in the video so i may have a little bit of filer, shots that aren't really that necessary. Moreover, during my editing phase in addition to cutting out scenes, i has to cut out entire scenes because i realized that i actually had way to much filer, like scenes that weren't me, so i had to change that up and put myself in most of the scenes. April 12 production blog

  So, finally i finished, the masterpiece is complete. I know i said i wanted it as a movie film, but it probably wont look like it. I filmed it and everything, it isn't the best but i give it like a 8 out of 10, i didn't have the godly camera, i couldn't take it outside because the day i went to my friends house it was raining so that was the first L. However, with the power of editing, and a good editing software, i hope i can make that 8 a 10. I filmed the video and everything, all is going smoothly, but i feel like i haven't filmed enough for some reason. That is pretty much the only problem i have right now. With premier pro I'm going to make the quality better, sound effects, background music, and everything to bring the best out of this video. All the pan and other film terminologies are incorporated in this video, I'm tryna do split screen but I'm not sure how that is gonna work. April 8th production blog

  So im going to reshoot my final task this weekend at my friends house again, my storyboard is pretty much the same but I'm just trying to make it look nice, im still adopting that detective role. Time really flies and the due date is around the corner. So, i think this weekend will be my second and last draft for the final task so i really hope it goes well. I'm planning to do it this weekend and then im going to give myself a couple days of editing so i can really perfect the final task.
